This Khotan runner is an antique rug woven in wool, defined by a soft red field punctuated by a pale round centre medallion and geometric floral registers. Cream and neutral guard borders carry small floral motifs that balance the stronger central colour, while subtle abrash and even wear lend a quietly aged surface. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measures 140 x 269 cm. The piece reads as tactile and considered, its restrained palette and low distress revealing the long-term patina of a well-preserved textile rather than dramatic restoration. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
