This Khotan wool runner, 201 x 353 cm, presents a restrained palette of neutral, brown and gold that has mellowed with time. Repeating roundels and rectangular panels are framed by multiple guard borders and small floral rosettes; the geometry is softened by even abrash and medium wear. The pile shows flattened highlights and threadbare lines that give a tactile, lived-in texture while the pattern remains legible.
