This Farahan Sarouk is a quietly sophisticated wool piece, its neutral ground threaded with green and gold to form an allover scrolling vine and palmette field. Repeating roundels and fine floral motifs sit within a narrow navy guard and a deep russet outer border, the whole showing low wear and a soft, even patina. The rug reads as a tactile antique rug, its colourway mellowed with age yet retaining detailed design and surface clarity. Circa 1885 - 1900. Size: 343 x 427 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
