This Larestan wool runner is an antique rug offered in a warm, muted colourway of brown, cream and neutral tones. The composition is an allover floral arabesque with palmettes and small rosettes, the motifs outlined in dark navy that have softened with time. Medium wear and abrash give the 183 x 404 cm piece a calm, tactile surface and a gently faded border that frames the field. Circa 1900 - 1915. The result is a quietly refined object where fibre, age and pattern combine to suggest provenance through patina rather than ornament.
