This Khotan offers a striking figural lion in soft wool against a warm red field, the corners marked by cream rosettes that balance the open ground. The piece displays low distress and subtle vertical abrash, which lends a painterly variation of colour across the pile. Strong but simplified line work defines the lion, giving the rug a near-illustrative, heritage-aware character. The tactile wool pile remains even and responsive. This antique rug measures 208 x 152 cm and reads as a deliberate, aged study in figure and field. Circa 1950 - 1965.
