This Khotan carries a soft, weathered medallion in neutral and brown tones with muted red highlights. The field is populated by small rosettes and geometric fillers, framed by multiple guard borders of lozenges and hooked motifs. Surface abrash and even fading give the wool a worn, tactile sheen while edges show mild fray; the overall character is one of quiet age and measured use. Circa 1900 - 1915. An antique rug that reads as a restrained heirloom, its palette and softened texture speak to long use and considered craft. Measurements: 124 x 241 cm.
