Handwoven Khotan in wool, the field a saturated red punctuated by repeating circular medallions and a soft grey central roundel. At 137 x 254 cm this antique rug pairs vivid colour with warm neutrals, golds and deep brown accents; borders run a repeating angular meander with small rosettes. Wear is low and even, the pile polished to a quiet sheen that reveals subtle abrash across the field. The overall effect is formal yet tactile, a heritage weaving that folds pattern and time into a calm, textural presence. Circa 1885 - 1900
