A gentle pink field set against an ivory and neutral ground defines this Sivas, its stepped medallion and floral palmettes softened by age. Muted yellow accents and faded grey outlines lend a calm, layered sensibility to the design; the wool fibre has taken on a low, tactile pile from medium wear and gentle abrash throughout the field and borders. At 130 x 198 cm the piece reads as intimate and considered, its borders framing the medallion with a measured rhythm. This antique rug is quietly worn and richly expressive, Circa 1900 - 1920.
