This Khotan is an understated antique rug in wool, its elongated field organised around two serrated diamond medallions in soft grey-blue and terracotta tones. The medallion centres are filled with petite floral rosettes and hooked details, enclosed by layered guard borders and a meandering outer band. The colours have a lived-in clarity, gentle abrash and a soft surface patina that speak to time and handling. Condition is low distress with intact edges and an even pile impression. Measures 216 x 406 cm. Circa 1900 - 1915. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
