A substantial Khotan antique rug woven in wool, its palette a delicate pink and coral over a neutral beige ground. The central field suggests a faded dotted lattice while a series of guard borders frame scrolling vine and rosette motifs. The surface exhibits medium wear and soft abrash, a gentle wash of colour that emphasises the rug's age and hand. The pile is worn and velvety to the touch, revealing layered hues and craft. Circa 1900 - 1920. Measurements: 274 x 559 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
