This Sivas antique rug, 203 x 300 cm, presents a calm, softened palette of cream and pale gold with muted terracotta accents. The design suggests a central medallion and scrolling palmettes, rendered as faded outlines and fine floral sprigs across a worn field. Surface abrash and medium wear have mellowed the motifs into a tactile, low-contrast fabric that reads like a lived-in textile; the ornate border retains subtle, classical ornament. The wool pile shows even wear and sympathetic repairs to the edges, keeping the composition harmonious and restrained. Circa 1885 - 1905.
