The design is an all-over arrangement of stylised floral guls framed by layered neutral borders; the scale is substantial at 406 x 457 cm. Wear is restrained, with low distress and subtle abrash that adds depth to the colour while leaving the motifs legible. The surface retains a textured, tactile quality and the borders remain well defined, giving this antique rug a calm, purposeful character. Circa 1880 - 1900. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
