An intimate Chinese Peking in wool fibre, 124 x 239 cm, composed like a miniature painted landscape. A deep indigo field hosts deer, flying birds and flowering branches in warm neutrals and muted gold, framed by a rose-pink inner cartouche and navy guard. The pile keeps a soft, luminous nap with low, even wear that preserves colour saturation and tactility. The design language and restrained palette point to early twentieth-century manufacture. Circa 1900 - 1915. This antique rug is quietly narrative; its subtle abrasion and refined motifs offer a tactile sense of heritage and craft.
