This Farahan Sarouk is woven in wool with a deep neutral ground warmed by red and gold highlights. An allover vine and palmette pattern repeats with symmetrical restraint, framed by a narrow red floral border and fine guard stripes. At 198 x 305 cm the proportions keep the design intimate yet readable; the pile shows low distress and an even, softened abrash that enriches the tactile surface. Circa 1910 - 1925, this antique rug presents a considered, heritage-rich patina where fibre and time combine to reveal the craft of its making.
