A Farahan Sarouk with a strong central medallion, worked in wool and laid into an ivory ground punctuated by rust red and deep navy. The closely patterned floral field and stepped spandrels are held within multiple floral borders, the whole showing a soft surface patina and restrained abrash that adds tonal complexity. Wear is low and edges remain neat, preserving the original rhythmic composition and tactile wool pile. This antique rug measures 262 x 353 cm and reads as a measured example of early 20th century workshop practice. Circa 1885 - 1900
