This Larestan presents a warm, rust-red field tempered by brown and soft neutrals, woven in wool and mellowed with age. A faint diamond medallion emerges from an all-over floral arabesque and vertical palmette motifs, the detail softened by even abrash and medium wear. The multi-band guard border contains the design while the wool pile has settled into a warm, low-relief surface with areas of lighter rescue at the centre. The piece reads as an antique rug with a quiet, tactile presence and considered patina, its pattern clarity carried in subtle tonal shifts. Circa 1885 - 1905. Measurements: 297 x 475 cm.
