Softly worn and quietly grand, this Sivas wool rug unfolds in a dusky pink and neutral field where a restrained medallion and linked palmettes drift toward the corners. At 472 x 488 cm the scale is generous; borders of repeating cartouches frame floral arabesques with refined linear detail. Surface abrash and medium wear have softened the colour and produced a satin, low pile sheen that reads tactile and lived-in. The composition balances formal geometry with a weathered, powdered finish. An antique rug that carries evident handwork and the patina of age. Circa 1900 - 1930
