This Afshar long runner, 224 x 671 cm, pairs a dense geometric lattice of linked palmettes with pointed end panels set in a softened indigo ground. A measured palette of brown, cream and neutral tones reads with clear abrash and medium distress; the central field shows areas of softened pile and historic wear. Narrow guard borders with repeating leaf and rosette motifs provide a composed frame to the design. The surface has a lived, tactile quality that speaks to handwork over time. An antique rug of subtle presence, Circa 1875 - 1895.
