An Esfahan antique rug in wool, presented with a dominant central medallion and an ivory ground enlivened by scrolling vines and palmettes. Measuring 406 x 653 cm, the composition is tightly organised yet breathes through its fine floral arabesque; blues, forest green and touches of light blue sit against warm red accents. The rug shows low wear and even pile, with borders retaining clear detail and intact fringe. Circa 1900 - 1920, the piece reads as a quietly refined example of Esfahan design, where handwork and considered colour create a tactile, heritage surface.
