A Farahan Sarouk woven in wool, the navy floral field set against a coral main border shows rich colour modulation and a relaxed, tactile surface. The composition is an all-over arrangement of palmettes and stylised blooms with narrow inner guards and a broad floral border; colours have mellowed to soft tones through wear and abrash. This antique rug measures 269 x 310 cm, its pile showing minor high-point loss and softened edges that attest to age and use. Circa 1890 - 1905. The result is a heritage-minded statement of pattern and colour, quietly weathered and material in hand.
