This Mallayer antique rug measures 104 x 391 cm, with a pronounced length that lends the design a calm, unfolding rhythm. The field is filled with softened floral forms, small geometric emblems, and layered botanical detail, all enclosed by a fine angular border. An ivory base is lifted by muted sage, dusty blue, charcoal, rust, and pale gold, creating a restrained yet varied palette. Visible wear, gentle fading, and tonal variation soften the drawing and give the surface an aged, tactile character. Circa 1910 - 1925, it reflects the nuanced decorative language of Mallayer weaving.
