This Mallayer antique rug measures 368 x 505 cm and carries a quietly aged palette of ivory, cream, taupe, muted rose, and pale blue-grey. Its layout balances an intricate allover lattice with delicate floral motifs and slender borders, creating a layered surface that feels both structured and softly dissolved by time. Woven in wool, the rug shows medium distress, with visible fading, gentle abrasion, and an irregularly worn hand that enhances its character. Circa 1900 - 1925, it reflects the restrained grace and lived-in atmosphere often found in an old Mallayer.
