This Mallayer antique rug measures 94 x 292 cm and presents a long, narrow composition softened by age, in faded brick red, pale aqua, ivory, and muted brown tones. An elongated central field is worked with repeating angular floral motifs, set within narrow borders and a delicately scaled outer frame. The visible wear has mellowed the contrasts and left the surface with an appealingly lived-in character. Circa 1900 - 1930, it carries the quiet depth and tonal complexity that define a well-aged woven piece. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
