This Mallayer antique rug measures 64 x 175 cm and offers a hushed composition of cream, white, brown, rust, and muted blue. Repeating medallion motifs and floral accents move through the field, while the border survives in softened fragments at the edges. High distress has flattened parts of the design, leaving a gently faded surface with clear signs of age and wear. Circa 1900 - 1935, the rug reads with a restrained, tactile presence, balancing pale ground tones against pockets of stronger colour and an openly weathered character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
