This Mallayer antique rug measures 269 x 457 cm and carries a soft palette of cream, ivory, beige, and brown. Its composition is organised around an allover geometric field, enclosed by layered borders and finished with two large lozenge motifs at either end, creating a balanced, elongated presence. High distress has flattened the contrast and brought a washed, tactile quality to the surface, while the border retains enough definition to read clearly. Circa 1900 - 1935, it reflects the quietly aged character and refined pattern language often found in a well-worn antique rug.
