This Mallayer antique rug measures 71 x 145 cm and carries an open field of floral vines, palmette forms, and medallion-like blossoms within a narrow repeating border. Pale aqua ground tones are layered with rust, terracotta, olive, soft gold, and warm brown, creating a mellow, weathered palette with quiet contrast. The surface shows even wear, abrash, and softened definition that enhance its tactile character without obscuring the pattern. Circa 1905 - 1920, it offers the rooted vegetal elegance often associated with Mallayer weaving, expressed here in a slender, timeworn format.
