This Mallayer antique rug measures 107 x 465 cm and presents a long, restrained composition that has been softened by decades of wear. Ivory, cream, taupe, muted teal, faded blue, rust, and sage notes sit within an elongated field of floral medallions and lattice motifs, all partially erased to an atmospheric finish. The border is still visible, though gently faded, lending structure to the composition. Circa 1900 - 1920, the rug shows medium distress, with even wear, subtle abrash-like variation, and frayed edges that reinforce its aged, tactile presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
