This Mallayer antique rug measures 91 x 366 cm and presents a slender, linear format with a gently worn, atmospheric surface. The central field is composed in faded teal, patterned with a repeating floral lattice, then enclosed by layered borders in taupe, brown, cream, and muted green. Small botanical and geometric motifs add rhythm along the guard bands, while medium wear and softened edges speak to age. Circa 1895 - 1915, it retains a grounded, heritage-led character that feels both orderly and weathered, with a muted palette that has mellowed beautifully over time.
