This Mallayer antique rug measures 102 x 508 cm and carries a tall, narrow format with a softly timeworn presence. Its field is organised in an allover lattice of floral and geometric medallions, enclosed by a slim border that still reads clearly through the wear. Neutral brown, olive, faded blue, and ivory tones settle into a muted, balanced palette, while medium distress brings visible fading, abrasion, and softened detail across the surface. Circa 1915 - 1930, it reflects the quiet texture and patina often found in a well-used Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
