This Mallayer antique rug measures 97 x 460 cm and presents a narrow, elongated composition with an allover geometric repeat enclosed by slender, floral-geometric borders. Cream, neutral beige, faded red, and rose tones settle into a gently worn field, where the pattern has softened under years of use. The surface shows medium distress, with visible fading and abrasion that lend the rug a calm, layered character. Circa 1900 - 1930, it retains the disciplined pattern language and weathered elegance associated with a Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
