This Mallayer antique rug measures 102 x 409 cm and presents a long, narrow composition shaped by time and visual quiet. The palette blends neutral brown, cream, and white with softened blue undertones, allowing the geometric field to emerge through age and wear. A repeating lattice of medallions extends through the centre, held by slender borders and guard bands that still suggest the rug’s original order. Medium distress has mellowed the pattern, creating a worn, tactile surface with clear edge character and fringe at either end. Circa 1900 - 1915.
