This Bibikabad antique rug measures 384 x 602 cm and presents a restrained yet intricate surface, shaped by age and softened detail. Rust red, muted teal, ivory, warm grey and soft tan move across a field of repeating curvilinear motifs, gathered around a pale central medallion. Layered borders frame the composition with fine geometric and floral elements, lending clarity to the overall design. Medium distress is visible in the fading and abrasion across the pile, creating a gentle, timeworn finish. Circa 1925 - 1940, it has the grounded character and decorative depth associated with a well-aged Bibikabad.
