This Mallayer antique rug measures 102 x 508 cm and presents a long, finely proportioned runner format. Across the field, linked hexagonal medallions repeat in faded aqua, teal, cream, and white, each one carrying delicate floral ornament and a softened geometric structure. The narrow border and stepped side guards frame the composition with clarity, while the worn surface lends a calm, lived-in texture. Medium distress has mellowed the palette and blurred the sharper edges of the design, giving the rug an atmospheric, collected feel. Circa 1915 - 1930, it is graceful, restrained, and quietly expressive.
