This Mallayer antique rug, measuring 353 x 597 cm, offers an allover floral field that has softened beautifully with age, creating a muted composition in ivory, faded teal, taupe, and dusty rose. The pattern moves in layered bands of rosettes and boteh-inspired motifs, held within a composed multiple-border frame that remains legible despite the worn surface. Timeworn abrasion and broad areas of fading give the rug a quiet, heathered presence, emphasising its tactile character and aged depth. Circa 1920 - 1935, it reflects the restrained elegance often associated with antique Mallayer weaving.
