This Mallayer antique rug measures 109 x 503 cm and shows a long, narrow composition with a blue ground softened by ivory, brown, taupe, and grey. The central field is organised in repeating arch motifs, set within a detailed border of floral and geometric devices that lends definition to the whole. Medium distress is visible in the softened contrast, uneven fading, and gently worn surface, all of which contribute to its layered character.
