This Mallayer antique rug measures 97 x 401 cm and presents a long, slender field patterned with repeating geometric and floral forms. Warm beige, brown and taupe tones are lifted by muted ivory abrasion and small blue-green notes, giving the composition a softened, well-aged look. The narrow border carries understated angular motifs, which contain the busy centre without interrupting its rhythm. Medium distress is visible across the surface, with fading, wear and tonal variation that deepen its sense of age. Circa 1900 - 1915, it has the quiet restraint and tactile patina often sought in an antique rug.
