This Mallayer antique rug measures 262 x 450 cm and carries an allover floral field in teal, green, cream, and muted rust. The stepped central form is absorbed into a finely worked lattice of vines, rosettes, and small geometric accents, framed by multiple borders that still read clearly despite the wear. Medium distress is visible throughout, with faded areas and abrasion lending the surface a dry, softly muted character. Circa 1920 - 1940, it reflects the layered patterning and weathered elegance often associated with refined Mallayer rugs. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
