This Mallayer antique rug, measuring 226 x 475 cm, presents a softly faded field of floral pattern in neutral, white, and cream shades. A fine border still traces the edge of the composition, while the centre has mellowed into a layered, low-contrast surface with traces of corner detail and scattered motifs. Circa 1900 - 1915, it shows high distress, with substantial wear, gentle abrasion, and a weathered patina that reads as calm and considered. The elongated scale and softened palette lend the rug a faded, heritage-rich presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
