This Mallayer antique rug measures 107 x 470 cm and shows a long, slender composition of repeating boteh-like forms in indigo blue, ivory, brown, and restrained rust. The central field is softened by age, with visible fading that allows the pattern to emerge in layered tones rather than hard edges. A narrow floral border and worn outer band frame the composition, while the darker lower section offers stronger contrast against the lighter, more abraded areas above. Circa 1880 - 1900, it has the muted presence and tactile surface of a well-aged antique rug.
