This Mallayer antique rug measures 173 x 399 cm and carries a long, tapering composition in powder blue, ivory, cream, and brown. The central field is organised with scrolling vine ornament and small geometric motifs, then bordered by narrow decorative bands that lend definition without visual weight. At each end, stepped architectural forms and folk-inspired details create a distinctive silhouette. Circa 1925 - 1945, this piece shows low distress, with softened colour, gentle surface wear, and an aged patina that leaves the design clear and measured. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
