This Tabriz antique rug measures 282 x 353 cm and carries a subdued, nuanced palette of faded aqua, cream, brown, and burgundy. The centre field is filled with a flowing floral arabesque, with palmettes, vine scrolls, and finely worked borders framing the composition. Medium distress has softened the contrasts and given the surface a weathered, quietly layered character. The result feels elegant but unforced, with the decorative detail still legible beneath years of wear. Circa 1940 - 1965, it offers the richness of a traditional Tabriz with a more muted, collected finish.
