An accomplished Tabriz worked in wool, the composition centred on a restrained medallion and dense floral arabesques rendered in warm gold and brown. At 130 x 165 cm the rug displays medium distress with gentle abrash across the field; navy outlining and creamy neutrals define the motifs. The layered borders and narrow guard stripes provide a compact frame for the articulated centre, while the softened pile and slightly worn fringe reveal a handle of age. Small threadbare areas and mellow colour transitions emphasise the piece's history without obscuring its design. This antique rug feels quietly considered and tactile. Circa 1920 - 1935
