This Seneh antique rug, measuring 135 x 201 cm, carries a delicate allover field of petite floral ornament in sage, muted teal, cream, and softened rust. The border is finely worked, with boteh-inspired forms and rosettes enclosing the composition in a measured frame. Across the centre, the drawing has mellowed with age, creating a muted, lived-in surface that lets the pattern emerge gradually. Woven in wool, it has the tactile depth and gentle wear of a textile shaped by time. Circa 1900 - 1920, it feels quietly decorative and deeply grounded.
