The field is filled with layered geometric and floral ornament, anchored by a central medallion and enclosed by a finely patterned border. Its drawing is crisp in places and softened elsewhere, with visible fading and worn passages that lend the wool a quiet, aged tactility. Medium distress enhances the sense of depth across the surface. Circa 1940 - 1965, this Mallayer keeps its pattern complex while remaining subdued, with the patina of long use woven into the design.
