This Mallayer antique rug measures 81 x 399 cm and has a long, ordered silhouette with an intricate allover field. A dark brown ground is animated by neutral, cream, white, rust, and muted blue notes, creating a subdued but layered palette. Repeated floral forms, angular vine motifs, and compact geometric elements build across the length, while the ivory border offers a lighter frame with steady rhythm. The pile shows low distress, with softened colour and gentle edge wear that speak to age without diminishing the design. Circa 1900 - 1925, it reflects the refined density and quiet formality of a well-preserved Mallayer.
