This Mallayer antique rug measures 114 x 503 cm and carries a long, slender proportion with a surface softened by age and regular use. The wool field is built around an extended floral medallion layout, with scrolling arabesques, stylised blossoms, and small repeated details that settle into the brown ground. Cream, beige, muted blue, and sage appear throughout the border and field, creating a muted but articulated palette. Visible fading and worn passages temper the pattern further, lending a calm, weathered presence. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reads as layered, hushed, and full of character.
