Faded floral medallions and scrolling decoration sit within a muted ground of blue-grey, brown, cream, and rust red, while the red geometric border provides a firmer line around the softened centre. The visible wear is well balanced, with abrasion, bleaching, and age-related fading that soften the pattern without losing its structure. Circa 1900 - 1915, this Mallayer antique rug carries the patina and tonal complexity that come through in well-lived wool rugs of this type.
