This Tabriz antique rug measures 338 x 450 cm and carries a richly worked field of scrolling floral forms in faded blue, ivory, and soft red. The design is layered and intricate, yet time has softened it into a more atmospheric, almost brushed surface. A red border provides a clear frame, with smaller floral details tracing the edge and outer centre field. Circa 1940 - 1970, the rug shows low distress and a gently worn character that preserves the rhythm of its pattern while tempering its colour. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
