This Mallayer antique rug measures 122 x 193 cm and shows a softly faded arrangement of repeating boteh-like motifs framed by layered floral borders. Woven in wool, its neutral, cream, and brown ground is lifted by subdued coral and muted blue accents, giving the surface a calm, weathered character. The design reads with clarity despite medium wear, and the aged finish softens the palette into a warm, atmospheric whole. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reflects the restrained patterning and lived-in elegance often found in traditional Mallayer weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
