This Mallayer antique rug measures 91 x 582 cm, with a narrow, elongated composition organised around a central column of floral medallions and angular vine forms. Deep blue, olive, rust, cream, and soft brown create a subdued yet varied palette, while the surrounding borders keep the design framed and balanced from end to end. The wool surface shows low distress, with gentle fading and lightly softened edges that lend a settled, tactile character. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the measured ornament and quiet depth typical of the Mallayer tradition.
